Directed by Michelangelo Antonioni
1961 Drama
Not Rated
**** 1/2
While La Notte has more plot and an overall more satisfying and logical ending than the first film in Antonioni's trilogy, L'avventura, did, I found it somehow less satisfying. Still, great performances from Mastroianni, Moreau and Vitti, along with another top-notch script from Antonioni, makes this study of the slow breakdown of the marriage between two people who couldn't seem to care less fascinating.
